Nutella Stuffed Cookies Recipe

Nutella Stuffed Cookies are a delicious treat that combines the rich, creamy taste of Nutella with the soft, chewy texture of a chocolate chip cookie. The surprise center of Nutella adds a wonderful gooeyness that makes these cookies even more irresistible! Here’s a simple recipe to make these indulgent cookies:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 1/2 cup Nutella (or other hazelnut spread)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Nutella:

  • Start by spooning 1 tablespoon of Nutella at a time onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. You will need about 12-16 small scoops (depending on how many cookies you’re making). Use a spoon or small cookie scoop to portion the Nutella into small mounds.
  • Freeze these Nutella mounds for at least 30 minutes. This step ensures that the Nutella stays solid when it’s placed inside the cookie dough and prevents it from melting out during baking.

2. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

3. Make the Cookie Dough:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer (or a hand whisk) to cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.

4. Form the Cookies:

  • Take about 1-2 tablespoons of cookie dough and flatten it slightly in your hand.
  • Place a frozen Nutella mound in the center and wrap the dough around the Nutella, pinching the edges together to seal the Nutella inside.
  • Roll the dough into a ball and place it on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining dough and Nutella, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart.

5. Bake:

  • Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft. Be careful not to overbake, as you want the center to stay gooey.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

6. Serve:

  • Enjoy the cookies warm or at room temperature. The Nutella inside will be gooey and delicious when bitten into!

Tips:

  • Freezing the Dough: If you prefer to prepare the dough ahead of time, you can freeze the cookie dough (before baking) for up to 3 months. When ready to bake, simply bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time.
  • Customize the Cookies: Add chopped hazelnuts, white chocolate chips, or a sprinkle of sea salt on top for extra flavor.
  • Nutella Alternatives: If you’re not a fan of Nutella, feel free to use another type of chocolate or hazelnut spread, or even peanut butter.

These Nutella Stuffed Cookies are the perfect combination of chewy, gooey, and indulgent. Enjoy these delicious cookies with a glass of milk or a cup of coffee for the ultimate treat!
