scalloped potatoes


  • 4 sweet potatoes cut into thin slices
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 3 tablespoons of flour
  •  1 milk ½ cup
  •  1 teaspoon salt
  •  1 cayenne pepper
  •  1 cup sharp grated cheddar cheese
  • 12 cups of grated cheese to sprinkle on


  1. In a small skillet, melt the butter and mix in the flour.
  2. Let sit for a minute.
  3. Add all of the cold milk with the whipped stir.
  4. Season with salt & cayenne.
  5. Simmer the sauce until smooth and boiling, stirring occasionally with a whisk.
  6. Lower the heat and stir in the cheese.
  7. Place half of the potato slices in a lightly greased casserole dish.
  8. Pour half of cheese sauce on the potatoes.
  9. Repeat the process with the second layer of potatoes and cheese sauce.
  10. Sprinkling remaining cheese on top.
  11. Put a little paprika on top of the colors.
  12. Bake detected for 1 hour at 350 degrees Fahrenheit
