Ingredients
- 120 oz crushed pineapple
- 21 oz filling , I prefer cherries, any flavor
- 1 pkg yellow cake mix
- ½ cup butter , cut up
- 1 cup pecans , or almonds , chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Grease a 13x9x2 inch pan.
- Dump pineapple into the pan and spread evenly. Do not drain the pineapple prior to placement in the pan.
- Dump in pie filling and spread into one layer.
- Dump dry cake mix on pie filling layer, spread evenly.
- Sprinkle nuts over cake mix.
- Sprinkle cut up butter over top.
- Bake for 48 to 53 minutes.
- Serve warm or cool.
- Top with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
- You can use any pie filling and walnuts may be used.
- Alternatively, you may bake the mixture in a crockpot on low for 2 to 3 hours.
