Lazy Man’s Best Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients

  • mix of ground beef and pork: 500 grams (1.1 lb)
  • cooked rice: 100 grams (1/2 cup)
  • onions: 1 medium-sized
  • carrots: 2 medium-sized
  • cabbages: 1/2 small
  • water: 300 mililiters (1 1/4 cup)
  • tomato sauce: 3 tbsp.
  • heavy cream: 3 tbsp.
  • ketchup: 2 tbsp
  • sour: 2 tbsp
  • herbal seasoning for ground meat: 1 tsp.
  • salt: 2/3 tsp.
  • ground black peper: 1/3 tsp.

Instruction

1. Firstly, I mixed together ground meat with rice, salt, black pepper and herbal seasoning in one bowl.
2. Then peeled onion and carrots. Diced the onion, grated carrots using larger grater. Cut the cabbage into thin strips.
3. Took a large skillet, first I put a layer of onion, then a layer of carrots and added cabbage. Poured over half of water.
4. Then I made small meatballs from ground meat and put them on cabbage.
5. In one bowl, mixed together remaining water, tomato salsa, ketchup, sour cream and heavy cream. Poured the mixture on made meatballs, covered the skillet with a lid and simmered for 30 minutes over lower medium heat, then turned over the meatballs and simmered for another 30 minutes over low heat.
6. In addition, vegetables can be seasoned with salt and black pepper to taste. Do not be afraid that it might look too much of vegetables in a skillet, but at the end of simmering vegetables will become very soft and decrease by one-third. Lazy meatballs are very tasty just with the veggies, but it’s also very tasty with boiled potatoes or bread.
