Ingredients
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 tbsp white vinegar (see note)
- 1 cup flour for all purposes
- 2 tbsp white sugar (used 3)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 Egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instruction
- Combine milk and vinegar in a small bowl for 10 minutes until “acid.” This is an important step called “sour milk” which is much different from sour milk. I guarantee you you will not taste vinegar in the finished product. Set aside.
- Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. In a smaller bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla and melted butter. Pour dry ingredients and whisk until most blocks disappear, but don’t end!!
- The mixture will be thick, and do not add more liquid. Let the mixture sit undisturbed for ten minutes!!
- After 10 minutes, you will see bubbles in the mixture, very important do not stir again.
- Gently dip (do not pour) 1/2 cup of mixture and place in a butter grill or frying pan. Cook until the bubbles appear on the surface of the pie, then stir with a spoon and redness the other side.
