Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Yogurt Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped dill or mint
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Mash chickpeas in a bowl until mostly smooth, leaving some texture.
  • Add egg, breadcrumbs, parsley, lemon zest and juice, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
  • Chill mixture for 10 minutes to firm up.
  • Shape into 6–8 small patties.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
  • Make yogurt sauce: Combine yogurt, lemon juice, dill or mint, and salt in a bowl. Mix until smooth.
  • Serve warm with a dollop of yogurt sauce.
