Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed and rolled to ¼ inch thickness
- 4 oz cream cheese (full-fat)
- ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar (or pepper jack)
- 2 jalapeños, finely chopped (fresh, pickled, or roasted)
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- ½ tsp smoked paprika (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Optional: ¼ cup cooked bacon bits or crumbled sausage
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar, jalapeños, garlic powder, paprika, and optional bacon.
- Roll out puff pastry and cut into 1½-inch wide strips.
- Spoon filling onto half of each strip, fold over, and press edges to seal.
- Twist each strip into a spiral and place on the baking sheet.
- Brush with egg wash.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Cool slightly before serving.
