Ingredients

  • 3–4 lb beef brisket (flat cut preferred)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup red wine or tomato sauce (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Rest & Slice: Let brisket rest 10 minutes. Slice against the grain.
  • Serve: Spoon juices and vegetables over slices.

Notes

  • Browning brisket before slow cooking adds depth of flavor.
  • Slice against the grain for tenderness.
  • Store leftovers in fridge up to 4 days or freeze for 2 months.
  • Reheat gently with broth to prevent drying.
  • Works well with BBQ sauce, tomato base, or wine for different flavor profiles.
