Equipment

  • Large pot (for pasta)
  • Skillet or sauté pan
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Colander
  • Mixing bowl
  • Grater (for Parmesan)

Ingredients

  • Pasta (fettuccine, linguine, or penne)
  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • Crab meat (fresh or lump)
  • Cajun seasoning blend
  • Garlic (minced)
  • Butter
  • Heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • Chicken or seafood broth
  • Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • Fresh parsley
  • Lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  • Cook Pasta: Boil pasta until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water.
  • Sauté Seafood: In a skillet, melt butter. Add garlic, shrimp, and Cajun seasoning. Cook until shrimp turn pink. Add crab meat and stir gently.
  • Make Sauce: Pour in cream and broth. Stir in Parmesan until smooth and slightly thickened.
  • Combine: Toss pasta with sauce and seafood. Add reserved pasta water if needed for consistency.
  • Garnish: Sprinkle parsley, squeeze lemon juice, and add extra Cajun seasoning if desired.

Notes

  • Use fresh shrimp and crab for the best flavor; imitation crab works but is less delicate.
  • Adjust Cajun seasoning to taste—some blends are spicier than others.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for 2–3 days; reheat gently with a splash of broth.
  • Not recommended for freezing—cream sauce may separate.
  • Pair with garlic bread and a crisp salad for a complete meal.
  • Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay makes an excellent wine pairing.
