Equipment

  • Nonstick skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Oven (or air fryer)
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Whisk

Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 pieces)
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (or preferred cheese)
  • ½ lb cooked breakfast sausage (crumbled or sliced)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil (for scrambling eggs)
  • Optional: chopped herbs, sautéed veggies, hot sauce

Topping (optional):

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds or chopped parsley

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Set oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Scramble Eggs: Whisk eggs with salt and pepper. Heat butter in a skillet and scramble eggs until just set. Remove from heat.
  • Prepare Dough: Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles.
  • Assemble Rolls: On each triangle, layer scrambled egg, sausage, and cheese. Add optional veggies or herbs.
  • Roll and Seal: Roll dough from wide end to point. Pinch edges to seal and place seam-side down on baking sheet.
  • Add Toppings: Brush with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds or herbs if desired.
  • Bake: Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown and puffed. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use pre-cooked sausage to save time.
  • Don’t overcook eggs—they’ll finish baking inside the roll.
  • Crescent dough is easiest, but puff pastry or biscuit dough works too.
  • Freeze baked rolls individually and reheat in oven or microwave.
  • Customize with bacon, veggies, or plant-based alternatives.
  • For air fryer: cook at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes.
