- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey/pork/plant-based alternative)
- 1 cup cooked rice or breadcrumbs
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg (for binding)
- 2 cups tomato sauce or broth
- Salt, pepper, paprika to taste
- Fresh herbs for garnish
