  • 3 tbsp white miso paste
  • 2-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari (optional)
  • Fresh herbs (parsley, cilantro) for garnish
  • Chili flakes or sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Simmer Base: In a saucepan, bring broth or water to a gentle simmer. Add sliced ginger and simmer for 10 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add Lemon: Stir in fresh lemon juice and zest.
  • Incorporate Miso: Remove from heat. In a small bowl, whisk miso paste with a ladle of warm broth until smooth. Stir back into the pot.
  • Season: Add soy sauce or tamari if desired. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  • Serve: Ladle into mugs or bowls. Garnish with herbs, chili flakes, or sesame seeds.
