Equipment

  • Grill, oven, or large pot
  • Saucepan (for garlic butter)
  • Pastry brush
  • Tongs

Ingredients

  • 4 fresh ears of corn, husks partially removed
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chili flakes or smoked paprika for garnish

Instructions

  • Select Corn: Choose fresh ears with bright husks and plump kernels.
  • Prepare Garlic Butter: Melt butter in a saucepan, add garlic, and cook gently until fragrant. Stir in salt and pepper.
  • Cook Corn:
Grill: Place corn over medium heat, turning occasionally for 10–12 minutes.
Boil: Simmer shucked corn in salted water for 5–7 minutes.
Roast: Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25–30 minutes.
  • Brush with Garlic Butter: Coat hot corn generously.
  • Sprinkle Parmesan: Dust with freshly grated Parmesan while warm.
  • Garnish: Add parsley or chili flakes.
  • Serve: Enjoy immediately for best flavor.

Notes

  • Freshly grated Parmesan melts better and adds richer flavor than pre‑grated.
  • Olive oil can replace butter for a lighter version.
  • Add lemon zest for brightness or chili flakes for heat.
  • Best served immediately, but leftovers can be reheated in the oven.
  • Works well as a side for grilled meats, burgers, or vegetarian mains.
