Equipment

  • Cast iron skillet (recommended)
  • Tongs
  • Meat thermometer
  • Knife + cutting board

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops (bone-in or boneless, 1-inch thick)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or thyme for garnish

Instructions

  • Prep Pork Chops: Pat dry and season generously with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Heat Skillet: Place cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil until shimmering.
  • Sear Pork Chops: Add chops to skillet. Cook 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Add Garlic Butter: Reduce heat slightly. Add butter and garlic to skillet. Spoon melted butter over chops to baste.

  • Rest & Serve: Remove chops from skillet and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley or thyme.

Notes

  • Use bone-in chops for maximum flavor; boneless cook faster.
  • Resting chops after cooking ensures juicier bites.
  • Cast iron skillets provide the best sear.
  • Add herbs or lemon juice to garlic butter for variation.
  • Pair with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or salad for a complete meal.
