Equipment

  • Large skillet or cast-iron pan
  • Cutting board and sharp knife
  • Mixing bowls
  • Wooden spoon or spatula

Ingredients

For the Steak:

  • 1 lb sirloin, ribeye, or tenderloin, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

For the Garlic Butter & Vegetables:

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 medium zucchinis, sliced into half-moons
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Optional: ¼ cup grated Parmesan or lemon zest

Instructions

  • Prepare Steak: Cut steak into cubes. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Sear Steak: Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Sear steak cubes for 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
  • Make Garlic Butter: In the same skillet, melt butter. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  • Cook Zucchini: Add zucchini slices. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  • Combine: Return steak to skillet. Toss with zucchini and garlic butter. Add oregano and parsley.
  • Finish: Sprinkle with Parmesan or lemon zest if desired. Rest steak briefly before serving for juicier bites.

Notes

  • Steak Choice: Sirloin is lean and affordable; ribeye adds richness; tenderloin is extra tender.
  • Zucchini Tip: Cook briefly to keep it crisp and vibrant.
  • Flavor Boost: Add chili flakes for spice or a splash of cream for a velvety sauce.
  • Meal Prep: Store steak and zucchini separately for best texture. Reheat gently in a skillet.
