Equipment

  • Skillet or grill
  • Baking dish (for oven method)
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Mixing spoon or spatula

Ingredients

Protein:

  • 1 ½ lbs chicken breasts or thighs

Sweet Element:

  • 2 fresh peaches (or 1 cup canned, drained)
  • 2 tbsp peach preserves (optional, for glaze)

Heat:

  • 2 jalapeños, sliced (adjust to taste)

Flavor Base:

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Sauce Components:

  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional)

Seasoning:

  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika or chili powder

Instructions

  • Prepare Ingredients Slice peaches and jalapeños. Mince garlic and onion. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Cook the Chicken Heat skillet or grill over medium-high. Add olive oil. Sear chicken until golden brown on both sides, about 4–5 minutes per side. Cook through evenly, ensuring internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  • Make the Sauce In skillet, sauté garlic, onion, peaches, and jalapeños until softened. Stir in honey, vinegar, and soy sauce. Simmer 5–7 minutes until peaches break down and sauce thickens into a sticky glaze.
  • Combine Chicken & Sauce Return chicken to skillet. Coat thoroughly with peach-jalapeño glaze. Simmer 2–3 minutes to meld flavors.
  • Finish & Serve Garnish with fresh herbs or extra jalapeño slices. Serve hot with rice, salad, or grilled vegetables.

Notes

  • Control the heat: Remove jalapeño seeds for milder spice.
  • Juicier chicken: Thighs stay tender when simmered in sauce.
  • Balance flavors: Taste sauce as it cooks—add honey for sweetness, vinegar for brightness.
  • Make-ahead: Sauce can be prepared up to 2 days in advance.
  • Storage: Refrigerate leftovers up to 3 days; reheat gently with a splash of broth.
