Equipment

  • Food processor or high-powered blender
  • Baking sheet (if roasting peanuts)
  • Airtight jar for storage
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • 2 cups peanuts (roasted or raw, unsalted preferred)
  • ½–1 tsp salt (optional)
  • 1–2 tbsp peanut oil or neutral oil (optional, for creaminess)
  • 1–2 tbsp honey, maple syrup, or agave (optional, for sweetness)
  • Optional flavor boosters: cinnamon, cocoa powder, vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Roast Peanuts (Optional): Roast peanuts at 350°F (175°C) for 10–15 minutes until golden for deeper flavor. Cool slightly.
  • Blend: Place peanuts in food processor. Blend until crumbly, then continue until natural oils release and mixture becomes creamy.
  • Adjust Texture: Add oil for smoother consistency or stir in chopped peanuts for crunch.
  • Season & Sweeten: Add salt, honey, or flavor boosters to taste. Blend briefly to combine.
  • Store: Transfer to airtight jar. Refrigerate for up to 3 weeks. Stir before use if oils separate.

Notes

  • Peanuts matter: Use roasted for bold flavor, raw for milder taste.
  • Oil optional: Peanuts release natural oils; extra oil is only for smoother texture.
  • Sweeteners optional: Keep it pure or add honey/maple for balance.
  • Variations: Try chocolate, honey-roasted, or spicy chili peanut butter.
  • Storage: Best refrigerated; avoid freezing to preserve texture.
