Equipment

  • Shallow baking dish
  • Saucepan
  • Mixing bowls
  • Knife + cutting board
  • Measuring cups & spoons
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) jumbo shrimp/prawns, peeled & deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • ¼ cup white wine (or broth)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred)
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Optional: chili flakes, mozzarella, or extra herbs

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a shallow baking dish.
  • Pat shrimp dry and arrange in a single layer in the dish.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan, add garlic, cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in lemon juice and wine/broth. Season lightly.
  • Pour garlic butter sauce evenly over shrimp.
  • In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, parmesan, olive oil, and parsley.
  • Sprinkle topping over shrimp.
  • Bake 12–15 minutes until shrimp are pink and opaque, and topping is golden.
  • Garnish with parsley and lemon wedges. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Pro Tip: Use jumbo shrimp for maximum juiciness.
  • Swap wine for broth to keep it family-friendly.
  • Panko breadcrumbs give extra crunch; regular breadcrumbs yield a finer crust.
  • Best served immediately; topping loses crispness when reheated.
  • Assemble ahead (up to 4 hours), refrigerate, then bake just before serving.
