Equipment

  • Large skillet or sauté pan
  • Tongs
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Measuring spoons
  • Whisk or wooden spoon

Ingredients

For the Pork Chops

  • 4 boneless pork chops
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Paprika (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter

For the Creamy Garlic Spinach Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream or cooking cream
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese (optional but recommended)
  • 3 cups fresh spinach
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning or thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Flavor Boosters

  • ¼ cup white wine
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ cup mushrooms
  • ¼ cup sun-dried tomatoes

Instructions

Season the Pork Chops

  • Pat pork chops dry. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Dry meat sears better, creating a flavorful crust.

Sear the Pork Chops

  • Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Cook pork chops 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown.
Remove from skillet and set aside.
Tip: Avoid moving the pork chops too much so they develop a proper crust.

Sauté the Garlic

  • Add chicken broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up browned bits.
Stir in heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan.
    Simmer gently until slightly thickened.

Add the Spinach

  • Stir in fresh spinach. Cook until wilted and incorporated into the sauce.
Spinach reduces significantly as it cooks, so add plenty.

Return Pork Chops to the Pan

  • Place pork chops back into the skillet. Spoon sauce over the top.
Simmer 3–5 minutes until fully cooked.

Garnish and Serve

  • Top with fresh parsley, extra Parmesan, and black pepper.
Serve immediately with pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes.

Notes

  • Pro Tip: Searing pork chops first locks in flavor and enriches the sauce with browned bits.
  • Make-Ahead: Store leftovers in the fridge for 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Variations: Add mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, or a splash of white wine for extra flavor.
  • Serving Idea: Pair with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables for a balanced meal.
