Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb beef (tenderloin, flank, sirloin, or ribeye), thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tbsp peanut oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (or hoisin)
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine (or mirin/chicken broth)
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: bell peppers, carrots, snap peas, chili flakes
  • Garnish: sesame seeds, scallions

Instructions
 

  • Prepare Beef Slice beef thinly against the grain. If using tougher cuts, velvet with cornstarch, soy sauce, and oil for 15 minutes.
  • Cook Beef Heat wok with peanut oil until smoking. Add beef in batches, searing quickly for 1–2 minutes until browned but still tender. Remove and set aside.
  • Cook Aromatics & Vegetables Add garlic, onion, and optional vegetables to wok. Stir fry 2–3 minutes until fragrant and slightly tender.
  • Make Sauce Whisk soy sauce, honey, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, and black pepper. Pour into wok, simmer until glossy and slightly thickened.
  • Combine (80 words) Return beef to wok. Toss with sauce and vegetables until coated. Garnish with sesame seeds and scallions. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
