Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup jam (raspberry, apricot, or preferred flavor)

Instructions
 

  • Cream Butter & Sugar: Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add Wet Ingredients: Mix in egg yolks and vanilla extract.
  • Add Dry Ingredients: Stir in flour and salt until dough forms.
  • Chill Dough: Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Shape Dough Balls: Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on lined baking sheet.
  • Make Indentations: Press thumb or spoon into each ball to create a cavity.
  • Fill with Jam: Spoon a small amount of jam into each indentation.
  • Bake: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden.
  • Cool & Serve: Let cookies cool before serving.

Notes

  • Chill dough to prevent spreading and maintain shape.
  • Re-press indentations after baking if they rise.
  • Experiment with fillings: chocolate ganache, caramel, lemon curd, or nut butter.
  • Store in airtight container for up to 5 days.
