  • 2 cans crescent dough (or puff pastry sheets)
  • 1 lb sliced roast beef (deli or homemade)
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional garnish)
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
  • 2 cups prepared au jus (for dipping)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Set oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease or line baking dish.
  • Layer Base: Place one sheet of crescent dough or puff pastry in the dish, pressing seams together.
  • Add Fillings: Layer roast beef evenly, then top with provolone slices.
  • Top Layer: Cover with second sheet of dough, sealing edges.

  • Bake: Bake 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  • Rest & Slice: Let rest 5 minutes before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • Don’t overstuff with beef—pastry can become soggy.
  •  Always preheat oven for proper rise and crisp crust.
  •  Egg wash or garlic butter ensures golden, flavorful topping.
  •  Rest before slicing for clean edges.
  •  Serve with au jus for authentic flavor; ranch or horseradish cream are fun alternatives.
