Equipment

  • Baking sheet or air fryer
  • Toothpicks
  • Mixing bowl
  • Saucepan (for glaze)
  • Tongs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb thick-cut bacon (about 20–24 strips)
  • 12 oz mozzarella cheese (cut into cubes)
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or chives) for garnish
  • Toothpicks for securing

Instructions

  • Prep Mozzarella: Cut mozzarella into bite-sized cubes. Chill briefly to firm.
  • Wrap with Bacon: Wrap each cube tightly with a strip of bacon. Secure with a toothpick.
  • Bake or Air-Fry: Place on baking sheet or air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes until bacon is crisp and mozzarella softens.
  • Make Glaze: In a saucepan, simmer maple syrup with chili flakes for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Finish: Drizzle glaze over hot poppers. Garnish with herbs.
  • Serve: Rest briefly before serving to avoid burns.

Notes

  • Use thick-cut bacon for maximum crunch and secure wrapping.
  •  Chill mozzarella before wrapping to prevent leaks.
  •  Avoid microwaving leftovers—reheat in oven for crispness.
  •  Maple glaze balances salty bacon; add chili flakes for a spicy kick.
  •  Perfect for holiday buffets, game nights, or party platters.
