Equipment

  • Waffle iron or Belgian waffle maker
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk or electric mixer
  • Measuring cups & spoons
  • Spatula
  • Optional: piping bag for whipped cream

Ingredients

For Waffles:

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs, separated
  • 1 ¾ cups (420 ml) milk or buttermilk
  • ½ cup (115 g) melted butter or neutral oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Cinnamon Whipped Cream:

  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream, chilled
  • 1–2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

Waffles:

  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks with milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
  • Gently fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Beat egg whites to soft peaks and fold into batter (optional for extra fluff).
  • Preheat and lightly grease waffle iron.
  • Pour batter into iron and cook until golden brown (≈4–6 minutes).
  • Remove waffles carefully and keep warm while cooking remaining waffles.

Cinnamon Whipped Cream:

  • Chill bowl and beaters.
  • Whip cream to soft peaks.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla, whipping to medium peaks.
  • Spoon or pipe over freshly cooked waffles and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Folding in beaten egg whites makes waffles extra fluffy.
  • Adjust cinnamon in batter and whipped cream to taste.
  • Preheat waffle iron thoroughly to ensure crisp edges.
  • Serve immediately for best texture; do not store waffles with whipped cream on top.
  • Experiment with toppings, syrups, or add-ins like nuts, fruit, or chocolate for variety.
