Ingredients
  

For Chicken:

  • 1 lb boneless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups flour (seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika)
  • Oil for frying

For Sugar Glaze:

  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp vinegar or soy sauce

For Sauce:

  • ½ cup Alabama white BBQ sauce (homemade or store-bought)

For Assembly:

  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 2 tbsp butter (for toasting)

Instructions
 

  • Season chicken, dredge in flour, dip in buttermilk, then coat again in flour.
  • Fry at 350°F (175°C) until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  • Prepare glaze: melt sugar with vinegar/soy until glossy. Toss chicken lightly.
  • Chop chicken into bite-sized pieces. Mix with Alabama white BBQ sauce on a griddle or cutting board.
  • Butter and toast hoagie rolls until golden.
  • Fill rolls with chopped chicken mixture. Add optional toppings.
  • Serve hot and enjoy immediately.
