  • ¼ cup sour cream or cream cheese (for extra creaminess)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven
Preheat to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Add onion and cook until softened (3–4 minutes).
Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add beans, green chiles, cumin, salt, and pepper.
Stir well and cook for 2–3 minutes until heated through.
  • Assemble the Bake
Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish.

Bake for 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
  • Rest & Serve
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
    Garnish with herbs if desired.

Notes

  • Always rinse canned beans to reduce sodium and improve flavor.
  • Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting and texture.
  • Let the bake rest before serving so it sets properly.
  • Adjust spice level with jalapeños or hot sauce if desired.
  • Great for meal prep—flavors deepen after a day in the fridge.
  • Reheat in the oven for best texture; microwave for convenience.
