Ingredients
  

Dough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • ½ cup warm water
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 tsp salt

Chicken Filling

  • 2 chicken breasts, cubed
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp sambal oelek
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 egg

Cornstarch Coating

  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp onion powder

Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp sambal oelek

Toppings

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Milk (for brushing)

Instructions
 

  • Make Dough: Mix flour, yeast, milk, water, egg, honey, oil, butter, and salt. Knead until smooth. Let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
  • Prepare Chicken: Marinate cubed chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, sambal oelek, soy sauce, and egg for 15 minutes.
  • Coat & Fry: Toss chicken in cornstarch mix. Fry until golden and crispy. Drain excess oil.
  • Shape Buns: Divide dough into 12 balls. Flatten each, fill with chicken and cheese, seal and shape.
  • Top & Bake: Brush with milk, sprinkle spice blend and Parmesan. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes.
  • Make Sauce: Mix mayo, chili sauce, sambal oelek. Drizzle over warm buns.
