  • Knife and cutting board
  • Spoon
  • Serving bowl

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • ½ small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: jalapeño or garlic for extra flavor

Instructions

  • Prepare avocados: Cut in half, remove pits, and scoop flesh into a mixing bowl.
  • Mash: Mash avocados with a fork or potato masher to desired consistency (smooth or chunky).
  • Add lime juice: Stir in lime juice to add tang and prevent browning.

  • Adjust seasoning: Taste and adjust with more lime, salt, or herbs as needed.
  • Serve immediately: Transfer to a serving bowl and enjoy with chips, tacos, or fresh veggies.
  • Expert Tip: Cover guacamole with plastic wrap pressed directly onto its surface if storing, to prevent browning.

Notes

  • Always use ripe avocados for best flavor and texture.
  • Add jalapeño for spice or garlic for depth.
  • For lighter versions, skip salt and add cucumber or bell peppers for crunch.
  • Guacamole is best enjoyed fresh—consume within 1–2 days.
  • A splash of lime juice before storing helps preserve color.
