Woman’s Apple

Ingredients

  • 1 large apple {I used Fuji- any apple will do, tart is best}
  • 1 box of Crescent Pillsbury dough
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 2/3 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup or 6 ounces 7-Up or equivalent {half of a can}

Instruction

  1. Preheat oven 350 degrees F. Grease an 8″ x 8″ baking pan.
  2. Cutting each apple into 8-10 wedges.
  3. Cut the apple peel into slices and set aside.
  4. Separate crescent dough to triangles.
  5. Roll each apple slice into a crescent-roll dough, starting at the wide end.
  6. Pinch it to close and cover the apple and place it in the baking dish. {This is easiest if you dry the apple slice first and then roll the dough around it.}
  7. Melt the butter in a small saucepan and add the sugar and cinnamon. Heat and whisk to blend.
  8. The mix will slowly combine also thicken. When it becomes thick, remove from heat and add vanilla.
  9. Pour the cinnamon mixture over the apple muffins. Pour soda over dumplings. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes in a preheated oven, or until golden brown!
