  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • salt 1/2 tsp


  1.  Preheat oven to 375°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square skillet.
  2. Melting butter in a large skillet. Remove from heat and stir with sugar. Adding eggs also whisk to well blended. Combine the curd and baking soda and stir the mixture into the pan. Stir the cornmeal, flour, and salt until well combined and there are a few lumps left. Pour batter to prepared pan.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 min
