Homemade Cheesy Breadsticks

Homemade Cheesy Breadsticks

These Homemade Cheesy Breadsticks are soft, buttery, and loaded with gooey, melty cheese. They’re made with a simple pizza dough base, brushed with garlic butter, and topped with mozzarella and parmesan. Serve them as an appetizer, snack, or alongside your favorite pasta dishes.

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)

  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Topping:

  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Make the Dough:

    • In a bowl, mix yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.

    • Stir in flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth.

    • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 45-60 minutes or until doubled.

  2. Shape the Breadsticks:

    • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

    • Roll the dough out into a large rectangle (about ¼ inch thick) on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

    • Brush with melted butter mixed with garlic powder.

  3. Add the Cheese:

    • Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan evenly over the dough.

    • Add Italian seasoning if using.

  4. Bake:

    • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and melted.

  5. Slice & Serve:

    • Let cool slightly, then cut into breadsticks.

    • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

    • Serve with marinara sauce, ranch, or garlic butter for dipping.

Tips:

  • For extra-cheesy breadsticks, double the mozzarella.

  • Want to save time? Use store-bought pizza dough.
