
Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions – Tender, Savory & So Easy

Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (divided)
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp sugar
- ¼ cup water or beef broth
Instructions
- Marinate beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and pepper (15 minutes).
- Mix sauce: remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, cornstarch slurry, broth.
- Heat wok, sear beef until browned; remove.
- Stir-fry onion, peppers, garlic, ginger.
- Return beef, add sauce, toss until thickened.
- Serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add mushrooms or broccoli.
- Freeze for up to 2 months; reheat gently.
- Use a mix of peppers for a colorful presentation.
