Hot Honey Shrimp – Crispy and Flavorful

Hot Honey Shrimp

Hot Honey Shrimp is a fiery-sweet dish that packs a punch with every bite. Juicy shrimp are seared and tossed in a sticky hot honey glaze, balancing bold heat with natural sweetness. Quick to make and irresistibly tasty, it’s perfect for weeknight dinners or party appetizers.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1–2 garlic cloves, minced

  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

  • ⅓ cup honey

  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (like sriracha or your favorite brand)

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp lemon juice or apple cider vinegar

  • Chopped green onions or parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, hot sauce, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.

  2. Cook the Shrimp:

    • Season shrimp lightly with salt and pepper.

    • Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Add shrimp and cook for about 2 minutes per side, or until just pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.

  3. Make it Hot & Sweet:

    • In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds.

    • Pour in the hot honey sauce and simmer for 1–2 minutes, until it slightly thickens.

  4. Combine and Finish:

    • Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.

    • Cook another 1–2 minutes until heated through and sticky.

  5. Serve:

    • Garnish with green onions or parsley if desired.

    • Serve over rice, noodles, or a fresh salad.
