Tiramisu Brownies Recipe

Tiramisu Brownies

Tiramisu Brownies are a decadent twist on the classic Italian dessert. They feature a thick layer of fudgy chocolate brownie topped with a creamy mascarpone and espresso-spiked layer — finished with a dusting of cocoa powder. It’s bold, luscious, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious!

Ingredients:

For the Brownie Base:

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

  • 8 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped

  • ¾ cup sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • ¼ tsp salt

For the Tiramisu Layer:

  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese, softened

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp espresso or strong brewed coffee (cooled)

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Topping:

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting

  • Optional: chocolate shavings or ladyfinger crumbs

Instructions:

1. Make the Brownies:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8-inch square pan.

  • Melt butter and chocolate together (microwave or stovetop), stir until smooth.

  • Whisk in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.

  • Fold in flour and salt. Pour batter into the pan.

  • Bake 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  • Let cool completely.

2. Make the Tiramisu Cream Layer:

  • In a bowl, beat mascarpone, powdered sugar, vanilla, and espresso until smooth.

  • In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream to stiff peaks.

  • Gently fold whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fluffy and combined.

3. Assemble:

  • Spread tiramisu cream evenly over cooled brownies.

  • Dust generously with cocoa powder and chill for at least 2 hours to set.

Tips & Variations:

  • For extra coffee flavor, brush the brownie layer with espresso before topping.

  • Swap mascarpone with cream cheese if unavailable (texture will be slightly tangier).

  • For adults: add 1 tsp coffee liqueur (like Kahlúa) to the cream.
