Pork Steaks Recipe

Pork steaks are cuts of pork that typically come from the shoulder (sometimes called pork blade steaks) or the loin (known as pork loin steaks). They are usually sliced into thick pieces and can vary in tenderness and flavor depending on the specific cut. Pork shoulder steaks are often more marbled and flavorful, suitable for grilling, braising, or slow cooking to enhance tenderness. Pork loin steaks, on the other hand, are leaner and can be grilled, pan-seared, or baked for a tender result. Both cuts are versatile and can be seasoned or marinated according to different recipes and cooking methods.

Grilled Pork Shoulder Steaks

Ingredients:

  • 4 pork shoulder steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Steaks:
    • Pat the pork steaks dry with paper towels.
    • In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, dried thyme, salt, and pepper.
  2. Marinate the Steaks:
    • Rub the marinade mixture over both sides of the pork steaks. Allow them to marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature, or cover and refrigerate for up to 4 hours for more flavor.
  3. Grill the Steaks:
    • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
    • Grill the pork steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C), measured with a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the steak.
  4. Rest and Serve:
    • Remove the pork steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
    • Serve hot with your favorite sides, such as grilled vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.

Enjoy your grilled pork shoulder steaks! Adjust the seasoning and cooking time based on your preferences and grill setup.
