Philly Cheesesteak Sliders Recipe
These Philly Cheesesteak Sliders are an easy and delicious twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Juicy, seasoned steak combined with sautéed peppers, onions, and melted cheese is packed into soft slider rolls, making them perfect for a game day appetizer or an easy family meal.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb thinly sliced steak (ribeye, flank, or sirloin works great)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 small green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 small red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 12 slider rolls (like Hawaiian rolls)
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Cook the steak:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced steak, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 3-5 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.
3. Sauté the veggies:
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and bell peppers. Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until softened. Add the Worcestershire sauce and stir to combine. Remove from heat.
4. Assemble the sliders:
- Slice the slider rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected as one large piece. Place the bottom half of the rolls in a 9×13 baking dish.
- Layer half of the provolone cheese slices over the bottom buns.
- Add the cooked steak and sautéed onions and peppers on top of the cheese.
- Top with the remaining provolone slices, then cover with the top half of the slider rolls.
5. Butter topping:
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley (if using). Brush the mixture over the tops of the slider rolls.
6. Bake:
- Cover the sliders with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
7. Serve:
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and then cut into individual sliders. Serve hot and enjoy!
Tips:
- Cheese Variations: You can also use American or mozzarella cheese for a different flavor.
- Steak Shortcut: For convenience, use thinly sliced deli roast beef instead of cooking the steak from scratch.
- Extras: Add sautéed mushrooms or a spread of mayo for extra flavor.
These Philly Cheesesteak Sliders are the ultimate crowd-pleaser, perfect for parties, tailgating, or any casual gathering!
