Oven-roasted cauliflower is a delicious and easy-to-make dish where cauliflower florets are seasoned and roasted in the oven until tender and caramelized. It’s a popular way to prepare cauliflower because roasting brings out its natural sweetness and enhances its flavor. Typically, the cauliflower florets are tossed in olive oil, salt, pepper, and optionally other seasonings like garlic powder, paprika, or herbs before being spread out on a baking sheet and roasted at a high temperature (around 400-425°F or 200-220°C) until golden brown and crispy on the edges. It can be served as a side dish or even as a healthy snack.
Ingredients:
- 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets
- 2-3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh herbs (such as parsley or thyme), chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
- Prepare the Cauliflower: Cut the cauliflower into florets. Try to make them similar in size so they cook evenly.
- Season the Cauliflower: In a large bowl, toss the cauliflower florets with olive oil until they are evenly coated. Add garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss again until the cauliflower is well seasoned.
- Roast the Cauliflower: Spread the cauliflower florets out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they are not crowded to ensure even roasting.
- Roast in the Oven: Roast the cauliflower in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are tender and caramelized. The edges should be golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Once roasted, transfer the cauliflower to a serving dish. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Serve hot as a side dish or a healthy snack.
