Ginger Soy Glazed Salmon Recipe

Ginger Soy Glazed Salmon is a dish where salmon fillets are coated in a sweet and savory glaze made from soy sauce, fresh ginger, and honey or brown sugar. The glaze caramelizes beautifully, creating a delicious contrast with the tender, flaky salmon.

Recipe for Ginger Soy Glazed Salmon

Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, finely grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Make the Marinade:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, ginger, garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
  2. Marinate the Salmon:
    • Place the salmon fillets in a dish or resealable plastic bag.
    • Pour the marinade over the fillets and coat them well. Marinate for 15-30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  3. Cook the Salmon:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Remove the salmon from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and cook the fillets for 3-4 minutes per side, starting skin-side down if applicable.
    • Once the salmon is mostly cooked, pour the reserved marinade into the skillet and let it simmer for a few minutes until it thickens and glazes the salmon.
  4. Serve:
    • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve with rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
