Garlic Parmesan Pasta
This Garlic Parmesan Pasta is a quick and delicious dish that combines the rich flavors of garlic and Parmesan cheese with perfectly cooked pasta. It’s a great option for a weeknight dinner or a tasty side dish!
Ingredients:
- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or your choice)
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup pasta cooking water
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Cook the Pasta:
- In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta.
- Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
- In the same pot or a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using), and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, or until the garlic is fragrant and lightly golden.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce:
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic butter.
- Pour in the reserved pasta cooking water, and toss everything together to combine.
- Add Parmesan:
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. If the pasta seems dry, add a little more pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
- Season:
- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper as needed.
- Serve:
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh chopped parsley and extra Parmesan cheese, if desired.
Tips:
- For added flavor, you can include sautéed vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or cherry tomatoes.
- You can also add grilled chicken, shrimp, or crispy bacon for extra protein.
- Use high-quality Parmesan cheese for the best flavor.
Enjoy your creamy, garlicky Garlic Parmesan Pasta!
