Ingredients:
-
1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
-
2 tablespoons butter
-
4 garlic cloves, minced
-
1 cup heavy cream
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
½ teaspoon paprika (optional)
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)
-
Optional: splash of lemon juice or white wine for brightness
Instructions:
-
Cook the shrimp:
-
Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
-
Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and just cooked through. Remove and set aside.
-
-
Make the sauce:
-
In the same skillet, add a little more butter if needed and sauté garlic for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
-
Pour in cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
-
Stir in Parmesan, paprika (if using), salt, and pepper. Simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
-
-
Combine:
-
Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
-
Simmer another 1–2 minutes until heated through.
-
-
Garnish & Serve:
-
Sprinkle with fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice, if desired.
-
Serve over pasta, rice, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.
-
Tips:
-
Don’t overcook the shrimp — they cook quickly and can get rubbery.
-
Add spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for a twist.
-
For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
