Creamy Garlic Shrimp Recipe

Creamy Garlic Shrimp

This Creamy Garlic Shrimp recipe features tender, juicy shrimp sautéed in butter and garlic, then simmered in a luscious cream sauce with Parmesan and a touch of seasoning. It’s elegant enough for guests but easy enough for weeknights — ready in under 30 minutes!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)

  • Optional: splash of lemon juice or white wine for brightness

Instructions:

  1. Cook the shrimp:

    • Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

    • Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and just cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  2. Make the sauce:

    • In the same skillet, add a little more butter if needed and sauté garlic for 30 seconds, until fragrant.

    • Pour in cream and bring to a gentle simmer.

    • Stir in Parmesan, paprika (if using), salt, and pepper. Simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.

  3. Combine:

    • Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.

    • Simmer another 1–2 minutes until heated through.

  4. Garnish & Serve:

    • Sprinkle with fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice, if desired.

    • Serve over pasta, rice, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.

Tips:

  • Don’t overcook the shrimp — they cook quickly and can get rubbery.

  • Add spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for a twist.

  • For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
