Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 50–60 minutes
Total Time: ~1 hour 15 minutes
Ingredients:
-
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
-
1 cup granulated sugar
-
½ cup brown sugar, packed
-
4 large eggs
-
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
-
1 cup all-purpose flour
-
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-
½ teaspoon baking powder
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus extra for topping, optional)
Instructions:
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
-
Mix the wet ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
Add eggs and vanilla, and whisk until fully incorporated and slightly thickened. -
Add dry ingredients:
Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir gently until just combined — do not overmix. -
Fold in chocolate chips and pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top and sprinkle with extra chocolate chips if desired.
-
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
-
Cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
