Brownie Bread Recipe

Brownie Bread

Brownie Bread is the ultimate treat for chocolate lovers — blending the rich, fudgy goodness of a brownie with the shape and texture of a quick bread. With a crackly top and melty chocolate throughout, each slice is dense, moist, and utterly decadent.

Servings: 8–10
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 50–60 minutes
Total Time: ~1 hour 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus extra for topping, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

  2. Mix the wet ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
Add eggs and vanilla, and whisk until fully incorporated and slightly thickened.

  3. Add dry ingredients:
Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir gently until just combined — do not overmix.

  4. Fold in chocolate chips and pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top and sprinkle with extra chocolate chips if desired.

  5. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

  6. Cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
