Ingredients:
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar completely dissolves to create a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice with the remaining 3 cups of cold water.
- Pour the cooled simple syrup into the pitcher with the lemon juice mixture. Stir well to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar or water if needed.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
- Serve over ice cubes in glasses. Garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves if desired.
