Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants Recipe

These Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants are a delightful and easy-to-make snack or meal option. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even a party platter!

Ingredients:

  • 6 large croissants
  • 6 ounces (170g) deli ham, sliced
  • 6 ounces (170g) Swiss cheese (or cheese of your choice), sliced
  • 1/4 cup (60g) Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1/4 cup (60g) mayonnaise (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh herbs (like parsley or chives), for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Prepare the Croissants:

  • If you’re using mustard or mayonnaise, spread a thin layer inside each croissant.

3. Assemble the Croissants:

  • Layer a slice of ham and a slice of cheese inside each croissant. You can add more cheese or ham based on your preference.
  • Close the croissants gently and place them seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

4. Brush with Egg Wash:

  • Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the tops of each croissant. This will give them a beautiful golden color when baked.

5. Bake:

  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is melted.

6. Serve:

  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and enjoy warm!

Tips:

  • Variations: Feel free to experiment with different cheeses like cheddar, provolone, or pepper jack for a spicier kick.
  • Make-Ahead: You can assemble the croissants ahead of time and store them in the refrigerator. Bake them just before serving for a fresh treat.
  • Serving Suggestions: These croissants pair wonderfully with a side salad or a bowl of soup.

Enjoy your delicious Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants!
