Olive Garden Copycat Breadsticks Recipe

These soft, buttery breadsticks are a perfect replica of Olive Garden’s famous breadsticks. They’re easy to make and pair beautifully with pasta, salad, or soup!

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon salt

For the Topping:

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the melted butter and yeast mixture. Stir to form a dough.
  2. Knead the Dough:
    • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 6-8 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  3. Let the Dough Rise:
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  4. Shape the Breadsticks:
    • Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 12-16 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a breadstick shape and place them on a greased baking sheet.
  5. Let the Breadsticks Rise:
    • Cover the breadsticks and let them rise again for about 20-30 minutes.
  6. Bake:
    • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the breadsticks for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Topping:
    • While the breadsticks are baking, mix the melted butter with garlic powder and salt. Brush the breadsticks with this mixture as soon as they come out of the oven. Optionally, sprinkle with dried parsley for garnish.

Enjoy your homemade Olive Garden-style breadsticks!
