Amazing Dinner Rolls Recipe

These amazing dinner rolls are soft, fluffy, and perfect for any meal. They are easy to make and will be the star of your dinner table!

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, divided
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup warm water (110°F or 45°C)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Yeast:
    • In a small bowl, combine the warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  3. Heat Milk and Butter:
    • In a saucepan, heat the milk and 1/4 cup of butter over medium heat until the butter melts. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  4. Combine Ingredients:
    • In the bowl with the flour, add the yeast mixture, warm milk and butter mixture, and eggs. Mix until combined.
  5. Knead the Dough:
    • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic. You can also use a stand mixer with a dough hook for this step.
  6. First Rise:
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.
  7. Shape the Rolls:
    • Punch down the dough and divide it into 12-16 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish or a round cake pan.
  8. Second Rise:
    • Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise again for about 30-45 minutes, until they are puffy.
  9. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Bake:
    • Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown on top.
  11. Brush with Butter:
    • Remove from the oven and immediately brush the tops with the remaining melted butter.
  12. Serve:
    • Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm!
