Best Homemade Lemonade Ever

Homemade lemonade is a quintessential summer treat, embodying the refreshing essence of citrus in every sip. With just a few simple ingredients — freshly squeezed lemons, sugar, water, and ice — you can create a beverage that’s far superior to anything store-bought. Whether enjoyed on a hot afternoon or served at a gathering, homemade lemonade offers a perfect balance of tangy zest and sweetness, making it a timeless favorite for all ages.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar completely dissolves to create a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice with the remaining 3 cups of cold water.
  3. Pour the cooled simple syrup into the pitcher with the lemon juice mixture. Stir well to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar or water if needed.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
  5. Serve over ice cubes in glasses. Garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves if desired.

Enjoy your refreshing homemade lemonade!
