Light and chocolaty brownies Recipe

Light and Chocolaty Brownies are the perfect balance of rich chocolate flavor with a lighter texture, so they’re indulgent but not overly dense. Here’s a recipe for making brownies that are both soft and light, with a deep chocolate flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (optional, for extra chocolaty flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons milk or water (for a lighter texture)
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee (optional, but enhances chocolate flavor)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. Mix the Wet Ingredients:

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.

3. Add Dry Ingredients:

  • Sift together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. If using, add the instant coffee for an extra flavor boost.
  • Add the milk (or water) and mix until the batter is smooth and a little lighter in consistency.

4. Add Chocolate Chips (Optional):

  • If you’d like to add extra chocolate, fold in the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate for a gooey, chocolaty texture.

5. Bake:

  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.
  • Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs (don’t overbake for a lighter, more delicate texture).

6. Cool and Serve:

  • Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before slicing into squares. If you prefer, chill them in the fridge to get an even firmer, lighter texture.

Tips:

  • For a fudgy texture: Don’t overbake! You want a few moist crumbs on your toothpick.
  • For added lightness: You can fold in whipped egg whites instead of mixing the eggs fully into the batter for an airier texture.
  • Serve with a scoop of ice cream or a dusting of powdered sugar for an extra treat.

These Light and Chocolaty Brownies offer the perfect mix of indulgence without being too heavy. They’re soft, flavorful, and a great chocolate fix!
