Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta is a delicious and creamy dish inspired by the popular Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer. It combines succulent shrimp tossed in a spicy and tangy sauce with pasta for a satisfying meal. Here’s how to make it!

Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces linguine or spaghetti pasta
  • 1 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional, for color)
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk (or regular milk)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust for spice preference)
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • Salt, to taste

For Garnish:

  • Chopped green onions or chives
  • Lime wedges

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Pasta:
    • Cook the linguine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a little pasta water.
  2. Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce:
    • In a bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, lime juice, and a pinch of salt. Adjust the seasoning and spice level to your preference. Set aside.
  3. Prepare the Shrimp:
    • In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika. In another bowl, pour the buttermilk. Place the panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  4. Coat the Shrimp:
    • Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, then dip in the buttermilk, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs. Ensure each shrimp is well-coated.
  5. Fry the Shrimp:
    • In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded shrimp in batches, cooking for about 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. Combine Pasta and Sauce:
    • In the same skillet (remove excess oil if needed), add the cooked pasta and toss with the Bang Bang sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
  7. Add Shrimp:
    • Gently fold in the fried shrimp until well coated with the sauce.
  8. Serve:
    • Plate the Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta and garnish with chopped green onions and lime wedges. Serve immediately.

Enjoy!

This Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta is creamy, spicy, and full of flavor, making it a delightful dinner option that’s sure to impress!
