Skillet Balsamic Garlic Chicken Recipe

Skillet Balsamic Garlic Chicken Recipe

This Skillet Balsamic Garlic Chicken is a quick and flavorful dish that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner. The combination of balsamic vinegar, garlic, and herbs creates a delicious sauce that elevates the chicken to a new level!

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Chicken:

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.

2. Heat the Skillet:

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and sear for about 5-6 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

3. Make the Sauce:

  • In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant (be careful not to burn it).
  • Pour in the balsamic vinegar and honey (or maple syrup). Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
  • Add the dried thyme (or Italian seasoning) and let the sauce reduce for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4. Return the Chicken:

  • Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet and coat them in the balsamic sauce. Let them simmer for another 2-3 minutes to absorb the flavors.

5. Serve:

  • Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately. This dish pairs well with rice, quinoa, or a side salad.

Tips:

  • Marinating Option: For extra flavor, you can marinate the chicken in balsamic vinegar, garlic, and herbs for 30 minutes to a few hours before cooking.
  • Vegetable Addition: Feel free to add some veggies like spinach or cherry tomatoes to the skillet during the last few minutes of cooking for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet or microwave.

Enjoy your delicious Skillet Balsamic Garlic Chicken!
